●インターネット・クラブ(IIEC)秋の例会の報告

9月18 (日) JCCC 2階 ヒロコ バラル ルーム。1pm-4pm。

●情報交換された話題

今回はcomputer/internetの話に加え、Uber、航空券、白内障・補聴器などの話題が楽しく話されました。

* Dashboard cameraの話。高部さんが実際のcameraを持参、簡単なセミナーをしてくれました。
Model LS300W Amazonで$89 (Free shipping)。（三浦のcomment：なかなか良いと思った）。
* Tabletの話：iPad Air 2（なかなか面白いと言う）、Toshiba c/w detachable keyboard軽く便利、Google Nexus 7 charging problem。
* この週末Windows 10が延々とupdate download/installation。2時間以上使えず（2人）。Script failure、なぜか。
* Uberを使うにはcredit cardの登録要-->上限$500のcredit cardを作りそれで登録。
* Credit cardのtapping feature：Hackersはそばを通っただけで情報を盗める-->(1) Aluminum foilで保護、(2) 3枚以上のtapping cardsを一緒に（混線する）。
* Smart phoneを落とさないように指を入れる輪をbackに装着。$20。
* 航空券：Aeroplanのpointを使おうとしてもAir Canadaは席が取れない。または遠回り。さらにcashで払う部分がかなりの額となる。US経由のairlinesだとcashの部分がかなり少ない。
* 機内持ち込み：500mlのmaple butterを取られてしまった。
* 安い宿泊：Airbnb.com
* 白内障の手術・補聴器・歯のimplantなどのいろいろな情報交換、

・・・などなど笑いの絶えない3時間でした。

◇例会は年2回、通常春(4月第3日曜日)と秋(10月第3日曜日)。
◇ただし次回の春の例会は3月19日(第3日曜日)に行います。場所の関係。
◇必要に応じて上記以外にも集ります。
◇セミナーの題材はcomputerやinternetに関係しないものでもかまいません。

We enjoyed discussions on computer/internet, as well as Uber, airline ticket, cataract, hearing aids etc.

* Mr Takabe presented a simple seminar on dashboard camera. Model LS300W.  $89 at Amazon (Free shipping).  (Nobby's comment: I thought the device was pretty good).
* Tablet: iPad Air 2 (Enjoyable), Toshiba c/w detachable keyboard (Very light), Google Nexus 7 charging problem.
* Windows 10 was doing updating over the weekend, taking two hours (2 people). Windows 10 Script failure. Why?
* A credit card is needed to register to use Uber --> Made a credit card with the limit of $500.
* Tapping feature of credit cards: Hackers can steal the card information by passing beside you. --> (1) Protect it with aluminum foil, (2) Put more than 3 cards together to disrupt the signals.
* A ring at the back of smart phones: Avoid dropping by putting a finger through while holding: $20.
* Airline tickets: It is hard to get seats by using the Aeroplan points. (1) Multiple transit points taking a long hours even days, (2) The cash paying portion is very expensive. The cash portion of US airlines is reasonable.
* Cabin luggage: 500ml maple butter was confiscated.
* Cheap accommodation: Airbnb.com.
* Information exchanged on cataract surgery, hearing aids, dental implants etc.

... etc., etc. It was full of laughter for 3 hours.

[] IIEC Meetings: Twice a year, normally on 3rd Sundays of Apr and Oct.
[] HOWEVER, the spring meeting next year will be on March 19 (3rd Sunday) due to the space matter.
