The Japan Society - 2011 Spring Series - Dr. Wendy Dobson - Tuesday, May 31st from 12:00 Noon

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Wendy Dobson as our final speaker in our 2011 Spring Series. As you are likely aware, Dr. Dobson is Co-Director of the Institute for International Business in the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, a former Associate Deputy Minister of Finance in the Canadian government and a former President of the C.D. Howe Institute, Canada’s leading independent economic think tank. She teaches courses in open economy macroeconomics and international business. Her research in international economics and international business focuses on globalization and regional integration. Her latest book is titled Gravity Shift: How Asia’s Economic Powerhouses Will Shape the 21st Century (Rotman/UT Press, 2009).

At this luncheon meeting, Prof. Dobson will talk about five major trends changing the shape of the world economy (not least being the rise of China) and what is driving these trends before looking at the implications for international business and how the world economy is currently being managed. A Q&A session will follow the formal presentation.
