トロント日本語学校では、現在、校長の募集をしております。


当校は1949年より、強制収容所から解放された日系人家族にのために、日本語と日本文化の継承を１９４９年から行ってまいりました。当校は、公認の慈善団体でもあり、児童部門（幼稚園から8年生まで）に約110人、成人部門に約130人の生徒が在籍しております。初心者から上級者までのクラスは、9月から翌年の6月までの土曜日の午前中に行われております。

採用要件

• カナダに在住し、合法的に働けること（カナダ国籍または永住権保持者）
  
• 5年以上の教師としての経験 (うち最低2年はクラス形式で児童に教えた経験があること）
  
• 教育分野でのリーダーシップのスキルを証明できること
  
• 優れた対人関係とコミュニケーションスキルを持っていること
  
• 英語と日本語のバイリンガルであること
  

職務内容

• 学校のカリキュラムと教師のパフォーマンスの監督そして指導すること
  
• 教師と理事会との連絡役となり、理事会で非常勤職の立場で職務上適切な助言と情報提供を行うこと
  
• 生徒や保護者と面談すること
  
• 学校の年間イベント(スピーチコンテストおよび卒業式を含む）を指導及び監督すること
  
• 幅広い日系カナダ人コミュニティにおいて学校の代表となること
  

給与
経験と資格に応じて支給。このポジションは非常勤職となります。

The Toronto Japanese Language School cordially invites applications for the position of Principal.

The School, established in 1949, served Japanese Canadian families in Toronto by providing lessons on Japanese language and culture in the wake of the internment. Today, located at the Orde Street Public School, the School operates as a registered charity and provides language instruction to anyone interested in learning the Japanese language. The School has ca. 110 in its children’s division (Preschool to Grade 8) and ca. 130 in its adults’ division. Classes, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, take place on Saturday mornings, from September to June the following year.

Candidate submitting an application will:

• be located and legally entitled to work in Canada (citizen or permanent resident)
  
• have 5 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher (with at least 2 years of experience teaching in an elementary school setting)
  
• have proven educational leadership skills
  
• have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  
• be competent in both English and Japanese languages
  

Primary responsibilities of this position will be:

• to oversee the School’s curriculum and the teachers’ performance
  
• to liaise between the teachers and the Board; to officiate the teachers’ meetings and provide appropriate advice and updates at the Board meetings in an ex officio capacity
  
• to interact with students and parents face-to-face
  
• to direct the School’s annual events, including but not limited to the Okamatsu Speech Contest and Graduation Ceremony
  
• to act as a representative of the School in the broader Japanese Canadian community
  

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a part-time position.
