Dear Customer:
As reported by mass media, Air Canada's Call Centre, Airport Check-In and Gate agents at nine Canadian airports (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto Pearson, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and St. John's NL) to take strike action.
Air Canada's full schedule will remain in operation and check-in/airport services provided at international and United States airports are not impacted. All of Air Canada’s regional airlines, including Jazz, and the airport check-in services they provide are also fully operational.
Starting Tuesday, June 14, 2011, Air Canada has implemented its contingency service plan at airports and Call Centres to minimize impact on customers. In anticipation of longer than usual lines at airport kiosks with limited available personnel:
* customers must check-in online or with their mobile device, prior to arriving at the airport.
* if possible, customers should avoid checking baggage in order to expedite airport processes.
* customers will have access to over 500 self service kiosks for check-in and baggage tagging in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto Pearson, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and St.John's NL).
* in the event of a flight cancellation, the online self rebooking tool,allows travel agent to re-book customer's itinerary conveniently. .
* same day flight changes will be accomodated free of charge, subject to availability, when requested via online check-in or kiosk.

ご周知の通り、本日エア・カナダのカスタマーサービス及びセールススタッフ職員（空港カウンター、搭乗口カウンター、予約センターを含む）3800人がカナダの主要9空港(バンクーバー、カルガリー、エドモントン、ウィニペグ、トロントピアソン、オタワ、モントリオール、ハリファクス、セント・ジョンズ)でストライキを行っております。これらの職員の業務を補う為にマネジャークラス1700人以上が空港やコールセンターなど現場での実務を代行しておりますが、実務に不慣れな点、人数が不足している点などにより、空港での手続きに時間がかかっています。
トロントピアソン空港では、一部の路線で遅延やキャンセルも発生しているようですが、現在の所、大きな混乱はございません。しかしチェックインカウンターやご搭乗口での手続きには時間がかかっているようですので、エア・カナダ便をご利用のお客様はより早めに空港へお越しになりますようお願い申し上げます。米国、日本などカナダ国外の空港には影響は出ておりませんのでご安心下さい。
以下、エア・カナダが本日発表したお客様あてのメッセージになります。
・ご搭乗者は空港到着前にオンラインや携帯電話でチェックインを済ませてください。
・空港でのチェックインプロセスを円滑にするため、なるべくお預けする荷物を少なくしてください。
・バンクーバー、カルガリー、エドモントン、ウィニペグ、トロントピアソン、オタワ、モントリオール、ハリファクス、セント・ジョンズに設置されている500台以上のチェックイン用の機械（キオスク）にアクセスしてチェックイン及びバゲージタグ発行して下さい。
・フライトキャンセルや遅延に遭遇した場合、旅行会社へご連絡下さい。
・同日のフライト変更は空席状況にもよりますが、オンラインまたはキオスクをご利用の場合、無料でご提供させて頂いております。
