JCCC Movie Night : Andante -Benefit Screening for Japan Relief

The JCCC is proud to present the Canadian premiere of Satoshi Kaneda’s heart-warming 2010 film ANDANTE.

Chika, although a talented pianist and attractive young woman, is one of an increasing number of agoraphobics in Japan. Approaching 30 and nearing the tenth year of having locked herself into her childhood bedroom, she ignites her father’s rage when having to beg Chika's boss (his former student) to allow his immature daughter to keep her job. The pressure from her parents to succeed, along with the harsh realities of Japanese culture cause her to flea to the countryside where she meets Shinpei; the "slightly" over the hill and unmarried rice farmer. Thus begins Chika’s transformation.
