Total Solar Eclipse pictures/皆既日食写真

皆さん、

4月8日のオンタリオ州の天気予報は皆既日食の観察には良好ではなかったため、
晴天が期待できるケベック州へ向かいました。 
前夜オンタリオ州コーンウォールに宿泊し、4月8日にケベックへ。

ウェザー・ネットワークの2台の車が、明らかに日食の観察と報告のため、
ケベックに向けて猛スピードで走って行った。

混雑を避け人の少ない田舎へ。 ケベック州はまだ雪に覆われていた。

最終的にモントリオールとシャーブルックの間にあるグランビーという小さな町に駐車。
部分日食の開始: 午後 2 時 15 分
皆既日食：午後3時27分～午後3時30分（持続時間3分）

部分日食が進行中。

どんどん暗くなっていく。 街路灯が自動的に点灯。

3分間の皆既日食。 日食下部に小さな明るい点が。 太陽フレア。

USA Today に掲載された写真には、ループする太陽フレアがはっきりと見える。

皆既日食中、金星が見えた。

自家製ピンホールカメラによる部分日食の画像。

茂みの隙間が自然のピンホールカメラになって無数の部分日食の画像を作り出した。


ところで、先日の【日食の一口解説】の項目に誤りがありました。
気が付いた人がいることは間違いないですが、こちらには連絡がありません。
間違い: （月の）重力が光を曲げる事を証明しました。  --> (太陽の)

All, 

As the weather forecast for April 8 in Ontario was not favorable for observing the total solar eclipse,
we went to Quebec where a clear sky was expected. 
We stayed in Cornwall, Ontario, the night before and went to Quebec on April 8.

Two Weather Network cars were speeding toward Quebec,
obviously for the eclipse observation and reporting.

We avoided crowded areas. Rural Quebec was still covered in snow.

We settled in a small town of Granby between Montreal and Sherbrooke.
Partial eclipse begins: 2:15 pm
Total eclipse: 3:27 pm - 3:30 pm (Duration 3 minutes)

Partial solar eclipse progresses.

It was getting darker. The street lights came on automatically.

Total solar eclipse. 3 minutes. Note a tiny bright spot at the bottom. A solar flare.

A picture in USA Today clearly shows a looping solar flare.

We could see Venus during the total.

By the way, there was a mistake in the [A quick talk on solar eclipses] section.
I am sure someone noticed it, but so far nobody pointed it out to me.
The mistake: (moon's) gravity bent the light from the stars --> (Sun's)
