The Global Asian Interactive Youth Association (GAIYA) was established in 2003. GAIYA consists of a group of high school, college, and university students working together and contributing to the society. Our first event, Summer Village Festival 2003, was hosted in response to the SARS epidemic in Taiwan. Since then, GAIYA has been an active group in Toronto, participating in various charitable events and activities. From 2004 to 2006, GAIYA worked with Kids Can Free The Children and raised a total of $6,500 for the school rebuilding project in the Gan Xu Province in China. GAIYA has also established other chapters around the world, including the latest addition in Tainan, Taiwan. Other chapters include Hawaii, and Panama.
