Markham Partnering with Community to Raise Funds in Support of Relief Efforts in Japan
Markham, ON ~ April 4, 2011 ~ Markham is partnering with community organizations, businesses and the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) Foundation, Japan Earthquake Relief Fund to raise funds in support of relief efforts in Japan.

Honourary Campaign Chair Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Campaign Chair David Tsubouchi and JCCC President Gary Kawaguchi will announce details of the Markham Rising Sun Campaign and its upcoming community fundraising events.

Three teachers from the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Programme, along with teacher Eric Chan, who were all at ground zero during the Tohoku Kanto earthquake in Japan, will also be present and available for interviews.

About the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Foundation
The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) has created a special, dedicated disaster relief fund within its Foundation to aid the victims of the Tohoku Kanto earthquake in Japan. 100% of funds received in the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund will be directed to the relief and rebuilding effort required in Japan.
