●募金活動を行う上での注意事項

2004年のインドネシア津波、2010年のハイチ地震の時と同様にカナダ税務庁/警察は詐欺の基金活動に目を光らせているようです。すでに無許可の基金活動をしていたグループが警察に連行されたという情報があります。

個人・グループが募金活動をするにあたって次のような注意が必要と思われます。

[] 現存するCharitable Organization (CO)の一部として活動する。
[] 例えば赤十字などから基金箱の提供を受ける。
[] あるいは赤十字などのpledge formsなどの提供を受ける。
[] 募金広告を掲載するなどの場合はそのCOの登録番号を明記する。

明日(火曜日)の夜の日系社会連絡会の緊急会議に赤十字の代表者が来るのでそれらの事項についていろいろ具体的な助言があると思います。

警察に連行されるようなことがなくても、一生懸命準備した活動がその場で中止勧告されるような事態をさける考慮が必要と思われます。

[*] Advices on donation campaign activities

The CRA/Police seem to be diligent for bogus donation campaign activities as was after the Indonesian tsunami 2004 and the Haiti earthquake 2010. There is a report already that a group was taken to a police station for questioning.

Individuals or groups who wish to do campaigns are advised as follows:

[] Do it as part of established charitable organizations (COs).
[] For example, you could ask donation boxes from COs such as the Red Cross.
[] Or obtain from them official pledge forms
[] When posting advertizing on media, indicate the registration number of the CO.

I would think that the Red Cross would give us more specific advises in the emergency meeting of the JC Network tomorrow (Tuesday) night.

Even if you are not taken to a police station, it is better to avoid a situation of getting a shut down order form police on the spot after putting so much effort in the preparation for a campaign event.
