Seats are still available for tonight’s talk! Curator Carol Dorman will discuss themes from the current exhibition, including Jo & Uba, The Seven Gods of Good Fortune, and, of course, turtles and cranes. She will also introduce other images that would have had symbolic meaning for Edo period print collectors, such as Shoki the destroyer of Demons, the zodiac and other birds and animals linked to special meanings.

The current exhibition, Live Long and Prosper: Images of Longevity in Japanese Ukiyo-e, features all original traditional Japanese Woodblock Prints from the 18th and 19th century depicting symbols of longevity, from the Stuart Jackson Gallery, Toronto .
