JCCC event - Ishizue Award Dinner
JCCC event - Ishizue Award Dinner
Hello;
As per a request at tonight's Network meeting, I am sending the information/flyer on a JCCC new initiative called the Ishizue Award Dinner:
The JCCC Board of Directors is pleased to announce a new recognition award called the Ishizue Award. The Ishizue Award acknowledges and expresses our appreciation and respect to members or friends of the Japanese Canadian community who have made exceptional contributions to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.
The name Ishizue, meaning cornerstone or foundation, pays tribute to the 75 families who, at significant personal financial risk, guaranteed the original mortgage on the JCCC at 123 Wynford Drive in the early 1960’s.
The inaugural recipients of this annual award are a very distinguished group of people who have each made significant life-long contributions to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.
They are: Pat Adachi, Fred Sasaki, Sue ( and Bob - post humous) Kadoguchi, and Coby and Yone Kobayashi (post humous)
We are pleased to cordially invite you to honour these distinguished award recipients at an intimate and elegant dinner on Wednesday November 10th, 2010 at 6:30PM in Shokokai Court at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. Black tie optional. Tickets are $150 each.
Please fill out the form attached and return to the JCCC to reserve your space OR can email to the JCCC ( jccc@jccc.on.ca ) or myself marubashi@rogers.com
Please RSVP before November 1st, 2010. Limited seating available.
Thank you!
Sharon Marubashi
