The deadlines to apply for 2013 Japan Foundation grant program are fast approaching. If you or your organization are conducting a project in Japanese Studies, Japanese Arts and Culture, or Japanese-Language Education in the 2013 fiscal year (starting April 1, 2013), please visit the Japan Foundation Website to learn more about our programs. In addition to the grant programs listed, we also offer exhibition loans and support Japan-related projects with smaller-scale local grants.

JAPANESE STUDIES AND INTELLECTUAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS:
■Japan Studies Fellowship Program
This program provides opportunities to conduct research in Japan by supporting foreign scholars in Japanese Studies. There are programs for PhD candidates, as well as established scholars and researchers.

■Intellectual Exchange Conferences
This program is designed to strengthen intellectual exchange between Japan and other countries and to support dialogue on regionally or globally shared issues.

ARTS AND CULTURE PROGRAMS:
■Grant Program for Dispatching Artists and Cultural Specialists
This program is designed to provide financial assistance to artists and Japanese culture specialists who conduct such cultural events overseas. This program is only open to groups or individuals in arts and cultural fields which are based in Japan and which have received invitations from overseas OR organizations and agencies that arrange and produce such projects as described above. Please note that the application is only available in Japanese and may only be submitted from Japan.

■Exhibitions Abroad Support Program
This program is designed to provide financial support to overseas museums and art institutions which organize exhibitions introducing Japanese art and culture to audiences overseas.

JAPANESE LANGUAGE EDUCATION PROGRAMS
■Advanced Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese-Language
This Program is designed for individuals or teams of up to three people who require more advanced expertise and skills as teachers of Japanese, and have specific challenges they wish to address, or have issues they want to resolve in the teaching of the Japanese language.

■Training Programs for Teachers of the Japanese-Language
(1) Long-Term Training Program for Foreign Teachers of the Japanese-Language
This six month program is designed to provide foreign teachers of the Japanese-language who are early in their career with an opportunity to improve their Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology and to deepen their knowledge of Japan.

(2) Short-Term Training Program for Foreign Teachers of the Japanese-Language
This two month program is designed to provide teachers of the Japanese-language, who have at least two years of experience in teaching the language, with an opportunity to improve their Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology and to deepen their knowledge of Japan.

■Japanese-Language Program for Specialists
Program for Specialists in Cultural and Academic Fields
This two/six month program provides specialists (researchers, postgraduate students, librarians, museum curators, etc.) who need a good command of Japanese-language for conducting their field related work and research with an intensive residential training course of Japanese-language.
